Day Labor Center
At the Day Labor Center, a contractor is anyone in need of short term labor. From construction jobs to helping move, individuals, homeowners or businesses who engage in employment activities at the Day Labor Center are considered contractors.
When you need a worker, drive up to the center, circling your car around to the posted entrance, from here a center employee will meet you at your vehicle to talk to you about your labor needs. This is where you share the job you need assistance with, the skills you require the laborers to process, and the number of laborers you require. While you are talking with the center employee, they will enter your information and the job information into the system and call forward workers matching your requirements. From here begins the negotiation process. The workers called forward who possess the necessary skills will discuss payment with you here, allowing you and the laborer to come to an agreement on an hourly wage for the job they are completing. Once an agreement has been made, you and your worker(s) then leave to complete the job.
Remember: You will most likely need to offer transportation for the workers
